My wife and I had a contract to purchase a condo. The contract had a refundable deposit. When we asked for our deposit back, the developer came up with a bunch of excuses why they would not give us the deposit back. Not sure if they are running out of money to finish the project or just less than reputable developers. Either way, why take the chance when there are plenty of completed projects on the island with seasoned management teams and reputable developers? It is just not worth it. We learned the hard way.
